Welcome to this site!
It uses the content management system joomla!

That means a lot of features and adjustments are possible but may require a lot of time.
Usually, changing an existing setting can be done pretty easily, but implementing something totally new can cost a lot of time and effort.
This forum is for your to suggest what setting you'd like us to change and what new features this site should have.
To speed up the process enormously, you can check joomla's extension list and find a program that creates the feature you'd like.
If you can't find anything there, please sign up at the joomlapolis forum and ask there (maybe in the newbie forum ). There are many nice people there who will tell you how something works. (We admins usually won't know ><)
If you have worked with joomla before, we're also very grateful for further technical advice and discussion!

Blogging would be no problem. However we decided to use the profile wall. Using the wall you can blog and people can leave their comments. When activating both many users would simply have an empty tab in their profile and ultimately many users wouldn't check the blogs tab ... and so on.
What do you guys think, would you use the blog component and check out other people's blogs?

Nope, I wouldnt use the blog component but I have some suggestions :

1) A Like/Dislike Panel for each topic. Or at least a like button such as those in Facebook

2) The ability to create polls and let people vote

3) One or two sub-forums that target the major areas of interest that most people on this forum have : E.g. Korean boybands (Almost 1 in 2 new female members here are into Kpop...)

4) A Text-Only chat box on the bottom left/right side just below the Member List/Ad banners (e.g. Cbox)

- Non flash based chat room
- get apple to allow flash player on iPad, iPod, iPhone.
- create an iPhone app for chat.

Are you offering up your services instead then?

Something simple and basic ,maybe, but only if you offer up a database space on your server for that. It's a big maybe though.

an iPhone app will make this site plagued with trolls and stupid people. This site is better as it is. It just needs a little improvement and this site will be great. So far, the people have been very nice. The forums are actually forums and people are communicating effectively. This is a good site and it has potential to become better. Asian and white dynamic is awesome. Its like the yin and the yang. :)
