Now that the world is turning to absolute crap, what are you striving for?

for many from my generation, who grew up being told that if we studied, went to good school did the right things, we would be set,
things are definitely not panning out that way
so what are you guys living for? as in, what are your goals that are driving you?

Everytime I try to catch a break, something is sure about to come hit me .

Try to appreciate every other day, because life is unpredictable.

a little off topic. i did poorly at school and uni. whilst im getting along just fine, i do wish i had focused more in my education life. its a pretty common opinion these days where people think school is not that important anymore. there is some truth to that. but having a strong education background opens so much more paths for you. what i once believe was overrated, i now feel is highly underrated.

im 10 years ahead of you in life. i am much different now compared to my 30s. family is my focus now. spending time with them and building a nest egg for my nephew and hopefully future generations.

Because some aren’t appreciated ,when it only brings nothing but sad and depressing news.

Unfortunately, only a lucky few will get far from just education. You need community to build. To start from level zero and want to move quickly up financially, home ownership it can feel impossible

Speaking from my own experience for homelessness at 17 and no family to owning my own home at the age of
30

Would having a education when I was younger would have given me an edge but I was too busy working to attend school.

Having a family to have a home to live in while working an earning would have been an edge.

Don't look at where you are and compare to where someone else is . We all have different starting places.

I am excited for my children, I have given them a great foundation. They will live with me while they save for their own homes. I will buy their first cars. I will set them up for a debt free life. ❤️

But you do have to recalibrate what you are striving for and why.

For me I want financial stability for my children, time with family, and to travel (when America stops pissing off the world).

I have a degree but now work in a field that requires a certified training. I make more and I have more family time.

Education is valuable. Getting a degree in the right field is important.
But family and community will also be better than an education.
You can pool resources to push farther in life, then you would have achieved by yourself.

I hope you find something to strive for! ❤️

I can quickly think of a few people , if they were focusing more on the education side of things more . Like completely ignored what was around them . They would’ve missed out so much in life. Like 10s of millions $$$$ of wealth.

Can you imagine those action figures men committed to sit in an office, cracking on some letters . instead of did what they were better at ? Their wages would’ve still struggled with the payment for just a single house, instead of a dozen.

Get buff up in the head is nice , but get buff up from the neck down is also a good choice.

Appreciate the good girl, don’t waste the bad girl

hmm i’m still young but
mainly i’m just trying to live my life to the greatest potential, some things i can’t control :c

but i really want to help people, so ideally i want to be in the medical field and then once i get too old for that i want to be a teacher. i want to help others, because so many others have helped me.

also i want to get married one day, not sure if ill find the right person. But the main thing is I want to do good in this world—even when things aren’t going well.

Yeah, degrees don't necessarily turn into careers; I gave up on the typical career a long time ago. Seeing how tired, annoyed, dissatisfied and fat/sedentary some people are in their careers, I'm ok with my lack of one. I'd be content doing something simple, even (not too strenuous) manual labor so that I can earn a modest amount while continuing to get exercise.

My hobbies, my health, and striving to leave my country and recover from all the crime and social dysfunction in it is enough for now. If that goes well, then maybe I'll have the energy and peace of mind to do something for those less fortunate.
